Disney x Legion Paper

Deliverables
For this project, we decided on a paper company and chose one of the several lines the company produces and promotes. First, we had to remember the color of the various papers and how this might work to our advantage. We then designed and created a mock-up for a bound 16-page booklet for our chosen paper company, including the cover and back. We also needed to include three folds within the circular (basic, accordion, roll, gate, poster, novelty, etc.) with at least four panels. Following our choice of paper line and considering various production techniques, we needed to conceptualize its promotion. For the most part, the audience was designers who needed to produce printed pieces and therefore pick up sample booklets from print shops to see how the ink/special effects reproduced on different types of paper stock. This was our opportunity to create a unique point of view to market the paper line to designers so that they take notice.

Booklet
The first in an 8 part series of booklets, this Disney collaboration with Legion paper is sure to be a hit among designers and collectors. This book showcases what is possible with the Legion Paper—specifically the Stardream line, and aims to showcase the first few years of animation from Disney Animation Studios—featuring the original movie posters, concept sketches, fun facts about each movie, as well as a timeline of events transpiring when each movie came out. This book also tells about the rise of the infamous mouse and quotes from Walt himself! This 35-page booklet will excite any Disney, paper lover, or designer. However, this collector's item is not for the general public.

Booklet

Concept
The idea behind the booklet is that it's the first in a series that shows the different animation eras of the Disney timeline. Featuring 3 gate folds, a varnish on the front, and a metallic varnish, this booklet is meant to show off what can be done on the Legion paper company Stardream line. It features a timeline of the movies and events, such as WWI, and then goes into the history of each movie and features the original poster. It then gives facts about each movie and features some original concept sketches. There's also the story of the famous mouse, info about Walt Disney, and quotes from him.
