Deliverables
Come up with a concept and design a series of books on it. Create a series of brochures for different audiences on the same subject. Design a content-rich magazine (i.e., Mother Jones, Wired, or Ad Busters). Or create a complex online website with heavy content like The Daily Beast, NRDC, UTNE, or Newsweek. Design deliverables may include a book, a series of books, large format brochures, posters, an ad campaign, an app, a game content-rich magazine, an installation, an environmental campaign, a logo and/or branding system, a brand book, kit, website, exhibit, film, or motion media campaign—or any other appropriate graphic design artifact. Each component must have depth, typography, and complexity. The outcome will be a minimum of 3-4 uniquely designed pieces across multiple media or an equivalent comprehensive artifact.
Sweet Life is the newest breakout convention based on Diabetes. It is a one-day convention that aims to teach those currently with the disease and educate the general public about it. It will include doctors, the leading experts in the field, and vendors ranging from funny merchandise to bakers and sweet treats that are all diabetic-friendly. It will showcase new technology, such as the leading breakout monitors and insulin pumps. In addition, there will be demonstrations on properly injecting insulin and testing your glucose levels. Finally, this convention will encompass how to live with and manage Diabetes. Because at Sweet Life, Life doesn’t have to be bitter with Diabetes.

Logo System

Logo Concept
The logo was perhaps one of the more critical design pieces for me. I wanted something fun and playful while maintaining a professional and clean aspect. I toyed with the idea of having a symbol, but it proved to clutter things up, so thus a simple typographical logo was born.
A secondary logo was created where the type would be too bulky to fit or clash with existing items. This can also be smaller than the master logo and still have readability. It also can go hand in hand with the logo as well. The blood and the fingerprint represent the method of taking a drop of blood from the finger and using it to check one’s blood sugar.
The type is a simple serif named Monarcha, weight bold. I felt that the curves in the letters were on point with the blood drop and would go very well together when used in tangent, but they could also be separate.
Website

Website Concept
The website is the third deliverable from this set. It is meant to be a go-to for the Information for Sweet Life.:
-
The Header includes the logo with a link to the home page and the tagline underneath the logo. It also has links to Special Guests, About, Information, Policies, and Merchandise.
-
The first page is a homepage with Information about when, where, and what Sweet Life is. Then there are some testimonials for people for the convention. Links/Information about guests, a place that leads to the schedule page, and vendor information. Lastly, it ends with a place to get tickets for the attendees because we've excited them, and now they want to go to Sweet Life!
-
Next is the About page, which features the story of the convention, volunteer information, and another snippet about the guests and vendors, and the ending of the page is a thank you to the convention's sponsors.
-
The guest page lists Endocrinology's greatest and brightest teachers, doctors, and technology companies. It's split into three sections separating the teachers, doctors, and technology company employees. To make it easier on the guests, we have the schedule linked again so they can look up the guests, then look up when they're speaking.
-
Finally, the footer closes each page with a linked logo, again back to the homepage, the contact information for Sweet Life, Social Media Icons, then a Search Bar, and copyright information.
Lanyard Tags

Lanyard Concept
Most conventions I've been to have always had some fancy name tag or lanyard that the attendees and guests wear to show they are a part of the convention. I have kept a few over the years to look back on that convention fondly. Therefore I wanted to design something that would signify convention guests, attendees, and press, as well as could serve as a souvenir or keepsake item.
Instagram Carousels

Instagram Concepts
The final deliverable is two Instagram Carousels for the company's Instagram page to post to promote the upcoming convention. They are meant to make people want to continue to scroll through the ads to see what the secret is, what Diabetes has to do with them, and information about the convention, such as where it is when it is, and the logo and tagline for the convention.
